Putin pushes for growth as Russia’s fiscal Rule comes under pressure
The Russian leader is unhappy with his country’s stuttering economy and this week ordered economic officials to bring back growth as quickly as they could. The initial response from his ministers suggests they will try to force a restart by sacrificing the country’s long-held fiscal rule, designed to smooth the cycle of boom and bust tied to global oil prices.
