Top agricultural firm seized in latest nationalization shock
The Russian business world has been left reeling by the latest shock nationalization: the prosecutor general’s seizure last week of the country’s biggest agricultural holding, Rusagro. The official reason given was that Rusagro’s owner, billionaire Vadim Moshkovich, combined business with state service in the 2000s. In recent years this has been one of the main justifications for seizing businesses — one that presents a serious headache for the elite.
